2009 Best Year in Company’s History

SAN DIEGO, January 19, 2010 - DefenseWeb® Technologies, Inc., a premier software developer and systems integrator for the Department of Defense (DoD) and other federal government agencies, touted 2009 as its best year in history.

Revenues for the company were nearly double that of the prior year and its staff grew to 170 full-time employees, a 79 percent rise from 2008.

“Since the implementation of our growth strategy in 2003, we've had cumulative annual growth rate of more than 50 percent in sales, revenues and 100 percent in profits.” said Rick Pope, COO of DefenseWeb Technologies. “Our goal this year is to continue to provide the best possible service to our customers but also continue to make DefenseWeb a compelling and fun place to work.”

The company’s other accomplishments in 2009 included:

- Securing a $4 million sub-contract to build a clinical case management and disability evaluation tracking system for the Department of Defense’s Wounded Warrior program.

- Launching the U.S. Army One Source virtual community, the first private, secure, computer-based environment of its kind created in the Linden Lab® Second Life® platform to provide information, service and much-needed outreach to service members’ families not located near bases.

- Implementing an integrated Clinical Health Management System that is used to track clinical and non-clinical predictors of post traumatic stress disorder and coordinate care.

- Initiating Emerging Technology Conferences help customers and partners learn about the technology trends affecting the DoD and other federal government agencies.

- Becoming resellers and integrators for several third party technology vendors including Google, Linden Lab, and Forterra.

- Being named to Software Magazine’s “Software 500” list for the fourth straight year.

- Having CEO Doug Burke listed as “Most Admired CEO” and CTO Chris Fletcher declared a finalist for “Tech Executive of the Year” in 2009 by the San Diego Business Journal.

- Receiving finalist honors for the 2009 TechAmerica’s High Tech award.

- Moving corporate offices to San Diego’s high tech corridor in Sorrento Valley.

“I’ve often heard the phrase ‘a company is only as good as its people’ and that saying couldn’t be more accurate here,” said Douglas W. Burke, CEO of DefenseWeb Technologies. “I’m extremely proud of the talent we’ve acquired and retained throughout the years. It’s because of their steadfast dedication to service members and their families that we’re able to provide them with the best possible software solutions and services. DefenseWeb is fortunate to be made up of intelligent, dedicated and innovative employees that are committed to serving our great customer base. We look forward to making 2010 an even better year.”
