DefenseWeb’s Head Named Most Admired CEO
SAN DIEGO, November 19, 2009 - The head of DefenseWeb® Technologies, Inc., a premier custom software developer and systems integrator for the U.S. Defense Department (DoD) and other federal government agencies, was just named the San Diego Business Journal’s Most Admired CEO.
The publication cited Douglas W. Burke as a key reason for the company’s exponential revenue and employee growth in recent years.
“Cliché as it may sound, the honor reflects less about me than it does the amazing team we’ve recruited,” said Burke. “They are now more than 170 strong – up nearly 66 percent from last year – and are clearly focused on providing customized software solutions for a wide variety of military family services, healthcare and other quality of life programs. Our folks do this on time, within budget and exceeding our clients’ expectations. This award belongs to them!”
The San Diego Business Journal’s Third Annual Most Admired CEO chose Burke and other honorees from a field of more than 65 finalists who were nominated by peers, subordinates, clients and other stakeholders in recognition for the outstanding, visible accomplishments. Individuals competed in one of the following categories: Public, Private, Nonprofit and Government Agency. The winners were recognized at a cocktail reception at the Marriott Hotel & Marina in downtown San Diego last Wednesday.
Burke’s award comes on the heels of the company being listed in Software Magazine’s “Software 500” list of top U.S.-based information technology firms earlier this year.
